About Stripe

Payment and refund transactions can be made through Quotevine. These transactions are done through integration with Stripe ( Stripe | Financial Infrastructure to Grow Your Revenue ), which is similar to PayPal.

In order to handle payments, you need to have an account with Stripe. You can sign up for a Stripe account the first time you access the payment screen, and at this point you'll need to grant your Quotevine access to Stripe. Once you've done this, you should be redirected back to the QV page you just left. After this, your account should be linked to Stripe so you won't need to continually do this.

In Stripe, you'll be able to see details of payments and refunds, so you can check that they're being processed correctly. You can also revoke Quotevine's access to the account in the Stripe account settings, via the Connect > Connected Applications tab. This is important so that you can stop us accessing your account, if there is a problem or you need to close it for whatever reason. If you do revoke access, then it should lose all links to this account in QV and then you will need to grant access to a Stripe account again before any more payments can be made.

If a payment is made against an invoice then it will be linked to that invoice. Similarly if a payment is made against a cashflow then it will be linked to that record. When these records are viewed details of all payments (and refunds) linked to them will be displayed.

With regards to receipts, whether or not you receive an email from Stripe is controlled by your Stripe account settings. The options available to you are:

This is set per user, rather than per Stripe account.

Stripe will automatically send a receipt to the customer when the payment is successful - you do not need to forward an email onto them. And you are able to customise the receipt that is sent from Stripe through your account settings by selecting a logo and colour:

Due to the introduction of SCA (Strong Customer Authentication), all payments must be made via Quotevine's SelfPay functionality. From 1st December 2020, links within the Quotevine application to take payments will be removed. Instead you will need to send an email to your customer giving them a unique URL to make a payment for the full amount of the invoce or cashflow. Within the Quotevine application you will be able to refund  all or part of the payment and see details of the payments and refunds relating to a Cashflow or Invoice. You can refund any amount of a payment up to the total amount. So if you have a payment of £200.00 and refund £50.00, you can make another refund of up to £150.00.
