Bulk Transfer Opportunities

If you have a lot of opportunities that you want to transfer to different account managers, but you don't want to change the account manager on the relationship, then you may benefit from using the Dataloader functionality to upload a file of the transfers you wish to perform and allowing the Dataloader to do this for you. We recommend that the first time you use this functionality, you use a small file with a couple of opportunities so you can test out the functionality and make sure you are happy with it. Once you are happy, then you can upload a larger file containing all the opportunities you wish to transfer.

You will need to make sure your user has permission to use the "Opportunity Set Account Mgr" Dataloader type by checking Settings > Edit User. Once you are setup, you can access the functionality at https://dataloader.quotevineapp.com using your normal Accelerate credentials.

You will need to prepare a CSV file containing the opportunity ID's that you wish to merge. The email address of the account manager, as used in Accelerate, should be in the first column, followed by a list of opportunity ids that should be transferred to that user (opportunity id's can be found in the Opportunity report by going to Reports > Opportunities) e.g.

This CSV file would transfer opportunity ids 123456, 124567 and 982304 to the account manager with the email address anne@example.com, opportunity 34562 to the account manager with the email address betty@example.com, and opportunities 112233 and 334455 to the account manager with the email address chris@example.com. It would perform each of these transfers in turn, so 123456 would be transferred first and then 124567. The file should only contain this information, it should not contain headers and the email address should be exactly as used within the Accelerate application. The file can either contain one opportunity per line or multiple opportunities on the same line, as in the example above. So in the example above, we could have produced a file with one opportunity per line which would do the exact same thing e.g.

Once you have prepared your CSV file, go to https://dataloader.quotevineapp.com and login with your Accelerate credentials. Select 'OpportunitySet Account Mgr' as the Data Type and choose the file you wish to upload, then click Next :

You will then be presented with a preview of the data uploaded from the file, you should confirm that the data looks correct and the count of records matches the file to ensure that the file was uploaded as expected:

Clicking Confirm will perform all the transfers and if you click "Transfer tasks" then it will also transfer any open tasks associated with the opportunity that are assigned to the current account manager to the new account manager. You will see a thank you page and the processing will happen in the background. Once you see the thank you page, you are free to upload another file or close the tab, you will receive an email when the transfers have finished. This email will provide details of how many records were successful and if there were any errors, details of which opportunities had an error and what that error was.
