Factory Fit Vehicle Options

Manufacturers supply rules for factory fitted options to CAP. These rules fall into 6 basic categories:

• One Of - only a single option from a set of options may be chosen eg. paint colour

• Requires All - when a particular option is chosen other options are required eg. a particular style of wheel may require fitting run on flat tyres along with the associated cost

• Requires One - when a particular option is chosen one of a selection of other options is required to be chosen eg. leather seats with a choice of stitching colour and any associated costs

• Not With - when a particular option is chosen it may exclude other options from being available eg. choosing sports seats may exclude some of the choices of seat covering

• Includes - when a particular option is chosen it may include other options at no additional cost eg. choosing the high end sound system may include additional speakers

• Includes One Of - when a particular option is chosen it may include a choice of other options eg. leather seats with a choice of stitching colour at no additional cost

The rules may also apply to option packs.

Configuration

Application of the rules may be configured globally by clicking ‘Settings’ in the top menu, then ‘Organisation Settings’. Ensure the ‘CAP Option Rules’ checkbox is ticked. If this is not checked, please contact your administrator.

Why Override The Rules?

The quality of the rules provided to CAP varies between models and manufacturers, some have contradictory rules which cannot be satisfied. Therefore in order to choose a particular option it may be necessary to ignore the rules.

Rule and Package Information

If an option has rules associated with it, an information icon is shown in the report. The information is available independently of the configuration. Standard equipment is not shown. 

Clicking the information icon will display the associated rules and any information concerning the contents of associated packages

If a rule is violated then the information icon background will turn red and save will be disabled until all rules are satisfied

Upon selection of an option with associated rules, a window will pop up displaying the items affected and presenting a choice of options if one is required. If accepted the options will will be selected or deselected as per the rules
