Ratebook Builder

Accelerate’s ratebook building function allows your business to quickly and efficiently provide bulk pricing for internal or third party use.

In order to build a ratebook, there are three core objects that need to be configured:

Calculation Default/s - these define the finance parameters used (but not the initial payment multiples, terms, annual mileages, pause types or frequencies)

Vehicle Group/s - these define a selection of the vehicle database, filtered by various parameters

Ratebook Template/s - these pull together one calculation default, one vehicle group and a set of profiles (initial payments, terms, annual mileages, pause types and frequencies) as well as controlling when the ratebooks will be built, and to whom they will be sent. You can create an unlimited number of ratebook templates.

Calculation Principles

Ratebooks are calculated using monthly, rather than daily compounded interest.

Ratebooks will take terms into account when establishing the cost of vehicles.

Vehicle Groups

Go into the CAP Data tab in Accelerate, and select ‘Add Vehicle Group’. You can then define the Description of the group, and then select whether the group is for Cars or LCVs using the Type dropdown.

Once your Type has been selected this will give you flags for the various Manufacturers available within the CAP Data. Apply the Manufacturers (and Ranges/Models if required) which will be included in your Ratebook and ‘Save’ the group.

Calculation Defaults

Calculation Defaults can be set by heading into the Settings Tab, and selecting ‘Add Calculation Default’, from within this screen you can then set the finance parameters required for your Ratebook.

It is useful to give your Calculation Default a unique description, as this will ensure you select the correct default when generating the Ratebook. For the purpose of building a Ratebook the following fields must be completed alongside any other mandatory fields:

Name

Name

Customer Rate

Car/LCV RV Modifier

Car/LCV SMR Modifier

XSM SMR Perc

Once you have completed these fields and selected ‘Save’, you will also be able to add in the Excess Mileage Bands.

Select ‘Add Row’ and complete the Price Floor & Ceiling values and the Excess Mileage PPM for each band therein:

Creating a Ratebook Template

To create a ratebook template, click on the Ratebooks item on the left hand menu, then click Add Ratebook Template. The following fields can then be completed:

Name

Description

Name

Description

Description

The name you want to give to the Ratebook Template

Relationship

If the ratebooks from this ratebook template are to be associated with a specific relationship, define it here.

Car/LCV Group

A single vehicle group that will be the source for the ratebooks generated by this template. You must select one car or one LCV vehicle group, you cannot select a car group and an LCV group.

Calculation Default

The calculation default that will be used for the ratebooks generated by this template.

Auto Build Day

The day of the month from 1 to 28 when the ratebooks will be automatically built and sent to recipients by Accelerate.

Recipients

The email addresses of those you want to send the ratebooks to upon generation, separated by commas.

Once the above fields are completed, and you have saved your ratebook template, there are two more tasks to complete:

Selecting Profiles

Click Edit Profiles to set the combinations of initial payments, terms, annual mileages, pause types and frequencies for the ratebooks generated by this template. The more profiles you have in your ratebook template, the longer it will take to generate, and the larger the resulting file.

Testing

To ensure all is well, click the Test button in the top right of the screen, which will build a ratebook from your template and email it to all the recipients.

Once you are happy with your ratebook templates, ensure you have set the auto build day as required and then save. On the day selected, the ratebook will be generated as per your template and sent to the specified recipients.
